Yes, the Tyndall Tram WILL be running in 2023!

Minors (15 years and under) must be accompanied by an adult unless special provisions are made ahead of time.

Prices are subject to change without notice. Payments made by Visa, Mastercard & debit cards incur a 2.5% surcharge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I bring?

  • Glove protectors to protect your ski gloves on the rope tows (purchase on the mountain at the Ticket Office or Palmer Lodge if you don't have your own).
  • Slippers/inside footwear for the lodge
  • Personal toiletries
  • Head torch for emergencies
  • Sleeping bag, pillow case & towel (or hire linen when you book)
  • Small day pack to carry spare warm clothes up to the field for your days skiing
  • Lunch ( pizza, pies, burritos, drinks & snacks) can be purchased at Palmer Lodge canteen on the field, OR bring your own food. BBQ and kitchen facilities (oven, microwave, toasted sandwich machines) are available for your use at Palmer Lodge. 
  • Beer, wine & cider can be purchased on the field at Palmer Lodge.
  • For Catered guests: we sell beer, wine & snacks at Lyndon Lodge.  

What are Ticket Office and Check-in Hours?

The Ticket Office will be open from 8.30-10.30am and 3.30-5.30pm. If you check in outside these hours please check with whiteboard outside the Ticket Office to find your bunk and lodge.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes vegan, vegetarian or other special dietary options available by arrangement. Let us know when you book your accommodation or package.

What if I need a break from the snow?

Curl up in the lodge with a good book or take a walk on one of the many two-hour forest walks down in the Broken River valley.

Is there Wifi?

Wifi is not available for our guests. We do have cell phone reception on the field and at the accommodation lodges.

Can we book out a lodge?

Yes, see our group options. please email our bookings staff at bookings@brokenriver.co.nz for further information.

Accommodation cancellation & refund policy

Lift Passes

1. No refunds on lift passes. The only exception is if the ski field closes before 12 noon and then you will be offered a complimentary lift pass to use at another time within the next two years. 

Accommodation and Accommodation/Ski Package Bookings

2. Bookings must be paid in full at the time of the booking or within 5 days if made pre-season or the booking may no longer be valid.

3. Confirmation of your booking cannot be made until your booking has been paid in full.

4. An administration fee of $50 (or the amount of the applicable refund if less than $50) will be deducted any refund, or when one or more nights of a package/accommodation booking are cancelled, or a booking is downgraded to self-catered.

5. If Broken River Ski Club Inc. (BRSC) has to cancel the booking, a full refund will be provided or you can transfer your full credit which can be used until the end of the next ski season.

6. Cancellations by a guest must be provided in writing by emailing bookings@brokenriver.co.nz . The date at which the cancellation email is received will be subject to the following standard cancellation fees:

- Cancellation 28 days or more prior to the commencement date of booking: 90% refund less administration fee.

- Cancellation between 27 days and 11 days prior to commencement date of booking: 50% refund less administration fee.

- Cancellation within 10 days of commencement date of booking, or during the period of the booking: no refund will be given.

7. Any refund payable will be paid by the BRSC Treasurer and may not be paid by the ski area or by ski area staff.

8. Cancellations due to illness/covid will be offered a full credit valid until the end of the next ski season. We are a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the honesty and goodwill of people to ensure this option is only used in a valid situation.

9. If your travel to Broken River is restricted due to governmental covid travel restrictions then you will be provided with a full credit valid until the end of the next ski season. Full credits can be transferred once without being subject to an administration fee.

10. When BRSC closes the field for the full period or part of your package:

- If the road and accommodation are open you are welcome to stay (and will be provided complimentary lift passes for the days the field was closed to use within the next two years if you have an accommodation/ski package) OR:

- You will be offered credit valid until the end of the next ski season, OR:

- You can request a full or partial refund (if closure occurs part-way through your booking) less the administration fee.

These conditions apply to all bookings, for BRSC members and non-members.
