Stay for the complete experience
One day is never enough!
Why leave when you can relax at the end of the day and share your days adventures with other enthusiasts - and then do it all again tomorrow? To top it off you're well-positioned for the first fresh tracks next morning! This has to be THE best way to save fuel, avoid driving hassles, minimise your carbon footprint AND get your winter fix!!
Broken River offers real mountain-style accommodation in three cosy, centrally-heated lodges nestled in beech forest at tree line just 10 minutes walk from the first ski tow. Great company, food and atmosphere are topped off with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and Castle Hill valley.
The lodges have shared bunk-style accommodation and bathroom facilities, modern kitchens, communal living areas and drying rooms. There is also an area for tuning and waxing skis and snowboards to keep your gear in tip-top shape. Don't forget to check out the sauna!
We offer two styles of accommodation:
Catered (Dinner, Bed and Breakfast)
BYO sleeping bag & pillow case. Meals are cooked for you and include a three course dinner and breakfast. Bring your own lunch or purchase something from Palmer Lodge on the field. You will be rostered on one light duty each day. Duties range from washing a few dishes to vacuuming. Please note that duties will not cut into your skiing time. Your accommodation will be Lyndon Lodge or Broken River Lodge. Lyndon Lodge will be filled before Broken River Lodge is opened up to guests. Linen can be hired at an additional cost.
Self-Catered

Which accommodation option would suit you?
Catered: looking for the complete break?
We recommend our Catered option. Buy a beer, sit back and relax after your days skiing in great company as your evening meal is prepared for you. You may like to order a drink from our selection of fine New Zealand wines and beers to compliment your meal.
Your accommodation will be Lyndon Lodge or Broken River Lodge, with Lyndon Lodge filled before Broken River Lodge is opened up to guests. Lyndon Lodge is our most modern lodge with smaller rooms with bunks and a private bedroom. Broken River Lodge has stunning views of the surrounding mountains and Castle Hill Basin, and it's three minutes closer to the slopes.

Self-catered: on a strict budget & want the "traditional" experience?
Enjoy the conviviality and traditional mountain atmosphere of White Star Chalet, our oldest and dearest hut, built back in 1953. Make friends in the communal bunk/common room and experience traditional communal alpine living. It's "no-frills" to keep the costs down but central heating and hot showers will keep you in touch with the 21st century. Bring and cook your own food. You will be required to help out with light duties in the chalet and mountain.

Large Groups: organise your friends for a memorable holiday together
If you are a large group, for example school groups or a group of families you might like to enquire about our special group booking option for groups who prefer to cook for themselves. Discounted rates are available subject to availability and the discretion of Broken River Ski Club. For further information please email bookings@brokenriver.co.nz.
