Hey freeheelers - we've some great events lined up for you this winter.
Telemark Week
Dates: Sunday night July 30th - Friday 3rd August
Last years Telemark Week was so successful that we're running it again. This is a great opportunity for freeheelers to get together, "chew the fat", get in some great turns and touch up on your technique.
We'll be offering lessons through the week. We're incredibly fortunate to have 4 telemark instructors with us for the week - Greg and Marti, telemark examiners with the New Zealand Ski Instructors Alliance, and Broken River Telemark instructors Jim and Claire. The aim of the lessons is to provide you with a "toolbox" of techniques to suit a variety of conditions and terrain - and all abilities.
Lessons will be available during the week with three included in the Skiweek package outlined below. For day visitors or people on shorter packages standard lessons rates apply.

Price: The best deal is by booking our special Sunday-to-Saturday 6 night/7 day package, which includes 3 complimentary lessons.
Standard accommodation rates apply if you can only stay a few nights.
Who can attend: The telemark week is open to anyone, including those who would like to learn to telemark. Thanks to R & R Sport we have a limited amount of telemark gear (skis and boots) for hire at a very minimal rate. So if you are interested hiring gear please email us at marketing@brokenriver.co.nz.
We're planning some fun social activities through the week and if conditions are right might be able to tour over to some neighbouring basins.

R & R Sport Free heel Fun Weekend
Dates: Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August
Stay on for the weekend and join us for for our annual R & R Sport Freeheel Fun weekend. This event draws in telemarkers from far and wide is a great chance to get together with other freeheeling fanatics.The weekend is a mix of fun events, socialising and clinics.

NZSIA Telemark Level One Instructor's Course - UNFORTUNATELY CANCELLED AS OF 25/7/12
Dates: Wednesday 1st - Friday 3rd August

Great instructors, excellent value - imagine having your own personal trainer for 3 full days! An awesome course that will certainly improve your own skiing out of sight. Last years course at Broken River was outstanding.
What is the Telemark Level One Course? This is a three-day course that is designed for those looking to begin instructing telemark skiing and develop their own telemark skills. This certification gives you the ability to teach beginners, BUT because it has a large focus on personal development it is an outstanding course if you just want to improve your own telemark skiing.

(If you come for the whole telemark week you will only be required to pay the NZSIA course fee as your acommodation and lift costs will already covered).
