Last years Telemark Week was so successful that we're running it again. Read on for details.
Are you are freeheeler, or perhaps always wanted to try telemarking?
We have a special ski week for telemarkers. This is a great opportunity for freeheelers to get together, "chew the fat", get in some great turns and touch up on your technique.
Speaking of technique, we're incredibly fortunate to have several telemark instructors with us on the week. These include Greg and Marti, telemark examiners with the New Zealand Ski Instructors Alliance. They are both passionate about telemarking and teaching others. This is a great opportunity that you should NOT miss out on. None of us ski in perfect conditions all the time so Greg and Marti focus on providing you with a "toolbox" of techniques to suit a variety of conditions and terrain.
Regardless of whether you are the fastest on the slopes or just getting going you'll find that Greg and Marti will be able to teach you new skills that will improve your skiing and make it more enjoyable.
Lessons will be available during the week with three included in the package if you book a Sunday-to-Saturday 6 night/7 day package. For day visitors or people on other packages standard lessons rates apply. Find out more about our ski lesson rates here.
The telemark week is open to anyone. Thanks to R & R Sport we have a limited amount of telemark gear (skis and boots) for hire at a very minimal rate. So if you are interested but don't have the gear please email us at marketing@brokenriver.co.nz.
For those interested in developing their own telemark skills and/or starting to instruct telemark skiing we are hosting a Telemark Level One Instructors Course in the latter half of the ski week (1st - 3rd August). This is an excellent course. Last years participants are still raving about how much they learnt!
If you can't make the week then come for the weekend. We are having our annual R & R Sport Freeheel Fun weekend on August 4 and 5th.
It will be a great week, excellent skiing, great company and plenty of social times both on the slopes and in the lodge at night. We would love you to come and join us!
